"Defend the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked"

Psalm 82:3–4

— This season — Protection

A named need. A time-bound window.

Cutting season is underway in communities along the Kenya–Tanzania border, including the Mara–Tarime region. Girls and teens, often ages 8 to 18, who refuse to be cut — or who are in danger of being forced — leave home for a place of safety for about eight weeks.

Pastor Peter Lwero and local partners set up encampments and transport those who need to get there. Sites used in this work have included a rented tent in Migori; school grounds offered by a Maasai chief in Manyara; and partner sites including a Lutheran mission and locations in Arusha, Tarime, and Sirari.
